We get asked all the time how to keep antiques looking in tip-top shape. Well, here’s our advice for caring for those beautiful antique wardrobes, desks, tables, armoires, and any wood surfaces:

• Wax every six months using a paste wax such as Harrell’s Traditional Wax Polish.
• Make sure wax matches the color of the wood.
• To apply, use No. 4 extra-fine steel wool.
• After waxing, buff with a 100% cotton cloth. Wadded up paper towels also do a beautiful job.
• We do not recommend using Pledge on antiques.
