Today we wrap up our travel series on Suzanne’s antique-buying trip to France and England this summer. Over the past few weeks, we have been displaying her finds here on our blog in anticipation of their debut at The Gables on Sept. 13. Be sure to save the date!

To complement our ethnic objects, we bought this wonderful old stone goddess statue from India to mix in.
These 18th and 19th century pewter pieces will add a lot of character to someone’s display for a super price. We bought them all!
One our favorite purchases was this 18th century painted clock from Finland. It has its original paint, giving it the beautiful patina shown here.

Had enough yet? We didn’t think so! Here are some more antiques we bought in France and England this summer just for our customers at The Gables Antiques. We can’t wait to show them to you in person–Sept. 13. Save the date!
This 18th century console from Provence was one of our prized finds.
Our feathered friends never had it so good as this beautiful old birdcage. What a fun accessory!
Shells were also a noticeable trend. We couldn’t resist these fabulous sconces.
We thought these 19th century artists’ palettes were really colorful and fun. We ended up with 8 of them. Then we saw some displayed in the new Ralph Lauren shop window on the Boulevard St. Germain in Paris.

Save the Date: September Antiques Sale
These “Sorcerer’s Mirrors” were part of a collection that we found in England. We have never had these before.
A huge tole “Sun Mirror” will be the centerpiece of a Gables wall.
How interesting to mix a 19th century colonial African mask in a bookcase with other interesting objects, photos or pottery. This is a trend that we saw happening in Paris.
