We were in for a surprise this week when former First Lady Laura Bush visited our store—along with others on Miami Circle—before her book-signing in town Wednesday. Mrs. Bush arrived dressed smartly in brown slacks and a magenta cashmere sweater over a white blouse along with an Atlanta-based friend who recommended The Gables for antique shopping. (Thank you!)
Laura took her time browsing our collection of 18th and 19th Century Country French antiques and inquired about shipping items from our own Painted Edge collection to Texas. She and former President George W. Bush have a new home in Dallas to furnish, and we’d be more than happy to help!
