Behind-the-Scenes of a Photo Shoot at The Gables

We’re taking a break from our Antiques Olympics to share with you what’s been happening in the store lately. Earlier this week, we had a photographer stop in at The Gables Antiques to shoot some photos for new ads. Have you ever wondered what goes on behind-the-scenes of a photo shoot? You may be surprised to find out how much work actually goes into it. To give you an idea of what goes on at a photo shoot, we decided to snap a few photos of the organized chaos that goes on behind-the-scenes.

But before we show you those photos, though, we have to tell you how we prepared for our little photo shoot. We actually spent two whole days moving things around to create the perfect look. Even though the store always looks great, it takes a good bit of change to get the look just right for an ad. Chandeliers must be raised or lowered, lampshades switched out, and furniture choices moved in and out in order for things to look perfect for the ad.

The day starts off with the photographers setting up their equipment.

Proper lighting is important to ensure the photos turn out just right.

Once all the lights are in place, it’s time to set up the shot.

Here is one of the settings we created for the photo shoot. Lovely!

It is amazing to see how much work goes into a photo shoot, from preparation to the actual shoot, but in the end, all the hard work pays off and we know the final result of the ad will be fabulous!

Be on the lookout for our new ads in future issues of Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles, Veranda, Flower, and Simply Buckhead magazines, and be sure to stop by the store sometime to see our new look!
