Antiques Make Beautiful Custom Lamps

It’s fun to personalize your home by making objects you love into lamps. For instance, we opened a fabulous bottle of 1984 Chateau Margaux that my son had, and I made that bottle into a lamp with a custom shade.
Here’s some custom lamps currently for sale at The Gables:
This old ship lantern would make a great beach lamp or could fit right in at a lake house. 21″ tall. $350.00
17th century Chinese incense burner. $2300.00

19th century Rose Medallion teapot lamp. $1990.00

A new use for a pair of old wood finials. 33″ tall. $1250.00 for the pair.
A French jar used to store mustard, probably from a restaurant. Made of good quality porcelain. $480.00
Italian anything has charm: this 19th c Italian fragment of a baluster has been reinvented into a lamp. 32″ tall $1750

This very unique French 19th c. brass fireman’s helmet is from a small town in Normandy, named Fougere. I can’t even imagine wearing anything that heavy, but they did. Now it is a stunning lamp. $1450.00
We also have plenty of other treasures here just begging to be turned into custom lamps such as this 19th century French majolica vase with frogs, butterfly, and salamander. It would be great for a garden room, guest bedroom, or even a powder room. $925.00.
To turn one of your finds into an antique lamp, we recommend contacting Sunlighting Lamp and Shade Center on Roswell Road in Atlanta. They specialize in custom lampstands and shades.
